DECISION GUIDE

Redesign the look. Keep the rankings.

Most redesign traffic drops are not bad luck. They are missing redirects, changed URLs and dropped content. TechSetup rebuilds sites across India with this sequence, and publishes it so any redesign keeps what it earned.

01

WHAT USUALLY BREAKS

The four redesign killers.

Rankings live in URLs, content and links. A redesign that touches all three without a map gives away years of earned visibility in one deploy.

  • URLs changed without redirects
  • High-traffic content cut in the new design
  • Heading and internal-link structure flattened
  • Launch day with no rank monitoring

02

THE SAFE SEQUENCE

Map the site, then design, then monitor.

Crawl the old site, map every ranking URL to its new home, keep content parity on money pages, then watch Search Console daily for two weeks after launch.

  • Full crawl and ranking-URL inventory
  • One-to-one redirect map before design freeze
  • Content parity on pages that earn traffic
  • Post-launch Search Console watch

CLEAR ANSWERS

Common questions, answered directly.

Will my rankings dip after any redesign?

Small temporary movement is normal while Google re-crawls. A sustained drop means something broke, usually redirects or removed content. And the Search Console comparison view shows exactly which pages.

Should URLs change in a redesign?

Avoid it unless the structure is genuinely broken. New URLs cost you re-crawling time and link equity even with perfect redirects. Keep what works.

How long should we monitor after launch?

Daily for two weeks, weekly for two months: most redirect and coverage mistakes surface in the first fortnight if anyone is looking.
